Is Architecture for me?

If you are asking yourself this question it means you are in a place where the dawn of uni is upon you and the space between your school and "your future" is beginning to blur.
Let me guess, you probably enjoy art,
science
or maybe both.
Either way,
YOU want to DESIGN and CREATE.

Isn't that what it's all about? What you crave for your future?
To look at something and say "I designed that".

That's how I saw it. I wanted to build something for someone that I could be proud of.
I wanted to design and make and build.

If you feel the same, then you are in the right direction. The answer to the question is yes.
Yes, Architecture is for you.

Architecture is for people who take pride in their work and also for those who work their butts off.

Yeah, so it's all nice and dandy to talk about how amazing architecture is, but holy moley its hard work - and if you don't want that then you better just turn your back now.

I mean it, literally guys, you have to WANT it. Otherwise you will lose it in 2nd year.

You have to know that your future with Architecture will be
a LOVE/HATE relationship.

The hate will spill out of your brain when you have to work for a deadline,
but you will love every minute of it.

The hate will form swear words while you shout at CAD,
it will burrow deep into your thoughts during group projects
and it will whisper while your tutor destroys the drawing on the wall.

But like I said, you will love it.
Not only because you are thick skinned, smart and can draw a damn good picture,
but because you want to design and make and build.

That my friends is Architecture.

In honest words, university will push you to your creative limits:
the tutors will churn out a shit load of creativity from you.

Once you leave, your tutor is replaced by your boss and the creativity is replaced by CAD drawings, but that folks is another story which will be flourished further in another post...
